Description:

At 9:00 a.m. on May 31, 2002, Liu Yingshan, an officer from the 610 Office[1] of Anda City, led six policemen to Ms. Zhong Bo’s home.  Without any legal procedures, they confiscated her family’s properties and forcefully searched and groped her body.  Afterward, they took Ms. Zhong the Anda City Politics and Administration Department. Instructed by Wang Jun, the vice director of the Anda City Police Station, policemen strapped Ms. Zhong to a chair and six policemen beat her. Liu Yingshan shocked Ms. Zhong’s back with an electric baton. Wang Jun fiercely hit Ms. Zhong’s head and body with a wooden stick many times. The corner of her eyes bled, and her face became black and swollen. Wang Jun did not stop the beating until Ms. Zhong had passed out.

To avoid being tortured to death,  that evening Ms. Zhong found a chance to jump from the second-floor window, however, she landed unconscious on the ground. Later, she was sent to the Hospital of Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province. The examination showed that two of Ms. Zhong’s right ribs were broken; there were inch-long wounds at the corner of her eyes and ears; her teeth were broken so badly that she can not eat properly; her whole face was black and swollen, and her body was covered with severe bruises. Currently Ms. Zhong’s mind still has not yet completely recovered. She has no memory of what happened and she cannot take care of herself. However, she is still under surveillance. .
