Plant Engineer Wang Hongbin Dies of Persecution
Print  E-mail

Mr. Wang Hongbin, male, 39, graduated from Changchun Post College and was an engineer at the telephone equipment plant of Hebei Province. Mr. Wang and his wife have been harassed and persecuted since July 20, 1999.  They were fired from their jobs, and were arrested and detained for three months.

On December 5, 2000, the "610 Office" and the Changan Branch of the Shijiazhuang City Police Department illegally ransacked Mr. Wang’s home and took him away. The police tortured him in order to extort a confession. He was then illegally sentenced to two years of forced labor at the Shijiazhuang Labor Camp.

While in the labor camp, Mr. Wang suffered extremely cruel torture both physically and mentally. The pain he experienced was unspeakable. After a time, he could not eat because of stomach pain. He was finally sent to the hospital to be examined.

When Mr. Wang was released in November 2002, he was extremely weak. He suffered from sweating, uncontrollable coughing, and insomnia. The torture he endured had greatly traumatized him. His health continued to deteriorate. He passed away at 11:45 p.m. on October 9, 2003.
