Ms. Wang Wenjun Died from the Torture Received in Masanjia Labor Camp
Print  E-mail

Ms. Wang Wenjun, female, 38, an employee of the Nuerhe Weaving Factory in Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province, was arrested on January 8, 2001, in Beijing for appealing for the right to practice Falun Gong.

Ms. Wang was sent to the No. 1 Detention Center in Jinzhou City. During the detention, guards poured cold water on her, slapped her face, and yanked her hair while slamming her head into the wall. In June 2001, she  was sentenced to three years of forced labor in the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. She was detained at Group Three of Division One in the No. 2 Female Camp.

At the Masanjia Labor Camp, the guards often tried to brainwash Ms. Wang.  They forced her to do slave labor. The constant abuse seriously affected her health. Beginning in May 2002, Ms. Wang suffered from severe stomach pain and abnormal vaginal bleeding. The guards ignored her condition and continued to force her to do the heavy labor.

In December 2002, the labor camp increased the violence to force steadfast practitioners to give up their beliefs. They tied Ms. Wang's  legs together in a double-cross posture for as long as five hours. They forced her to sit on a small stool for long periods of time. Ms. Wang was already in a terrible state, and suffered from such severe stomach pain that she could not sleep at night. When it was too late for any remedy to be effective, she was diagnosed with terminal uterine cancer at the Masanjia Hospital. She became thinner each day. On December 28, 2002, when her ex-husband picked her up, the doctor at Masanjia Hospital said she was dying. On July 22, 2003, Ms. Wang passed away.
