Ms. Ma Lianxiao is 59 years old. She worked at the Construction Science Research Institute in Liaoning Province. She started practicing Falun Gong in 1996, and the many types of illnesses that had tormented her for years disappeared without medical treatment, including skin disease, heart disease, low blood pressure, gastrointestinal disease, uterine fibromyoma, breast adenosis and an esophagus problem.

On December 3, 1999, she went to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong, but she ended up being arrested and thrown into Shenyang Women's Ziqiang School (a type of prison facility) in Shenyang, Liaoning Province.

In May 2001, she was arrested again for clarifying the facts about the persecution of Falun Gong, and was imprisoned in Shenyang City Detention Center and then later in Shenyang Province Prison Administration Bureau General Hospital. In December 2001, she went on a hunger strike to protest the illegal imprisonment and persecution. She was not released until she was about to die. She was then forced to become homeless to avoid further persecution, and her employer is withholding her salary.

In July 2003, she went to clarify the facts at her workplace, and police from the Heping district Jixian station arrested her there. The Heping District Court sentenced her to eight years in prison. While in detention, Ms. Ma started a hunger strike again to protest the persecution, and was force-fed with highly concentrated salt water. She was sent to the prison hospital when she was near death. The Detention Center released her to her relatives, but after several rounds of savage persecution, her health deteriorated. Ms. Ma felt dizzy all the time and had difficulty keeping her balance.

In March 2005, she was again arrested and sent to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. Shortly afterwards it was discovered that she was no longer in Masanjia. When concerned people and her family made inquiries, Masanjia authorities told them, "She was sent home already." However, she is not home.

Steps taken to find Mr. Hu Zhiming:

Everyone looked for her everywhere, but no one could locate her. Ms. Ma Lianxiao's whereabouts remain unknown.
