A Brief Report of the Incident:

Government authorities ordered that practitioners who would not renounce Falun Gong be tortured in mental hospitals. After July 20, 1999, Falun Gong practitioner, Ms. Wei Huayu, was held in the Jiaozhou city Mental Hospital, and was forced to receive tranquilizer injections (or sedatives) for more than 20 days.
