A Brief Report of the Incident:

 

Ms. Wang Xiaoping, went on a hunger strike in the detention center for 11 days and was force-fed with salt water twice. When she was released on February 24, 2000, she was very weak. Her family members picked her up from the detention center. On March 9, 2000, under heavy pressure from the government, her family sent her to the Mental Section of the No. 5 Hospital of the Medical University of Hebei province although she did not show any mental problems. When she refused to take the drugs, the hospital shocked her with electric needles and then forced her to take them.
